Privacy
Pastemorphic does not collect anything. There is nowhere for it to send anything to.

What it stores, and where
The notes you save are kept as ordinary bookmarks in your own browser, in a folder named Pastemorphic. A few small preferences — your chosen colour, light or dark, which tab you had open — are kept in the browser's own extension storage. That is all of it.
Nothing is sent anywhere. The extension makes no network requests of any kind. There is no server, no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Nobody but you ever sees your notes.
If you have your browser's sync turned on, your notes travel between your own computers the same way the rest of your bookmarks do. That is your browser's sync, run by whoever makes your browser, and Pastemorphic is not part of it.
Why it asks for each permission
- Bookmarks — the notes are bookmarks. It reads and writes only inside its own folder.
- Storage — remembers your colour, light or dark, and which tab you were on.
- Context menus — puts "Add to Pastemorphic" on the right-click menu when you have text selected, and lists your notes when you right-click a text box.
- Active tab and scripting — used only at the moment you ask for a paste, to place text into the box you were typing in. Nothing is read from the page, and nothing runs on a page until you press a shortcut or click a menu item.
- Clipboard write — copies a note when you click it.
What that means for you
Because your notes are bookmarks, they are as visible as any other bookmark. Anyone who can open your browser can read them, and they travel wherever your bookmark sync goes. Pastemorphic says so the first time you open it, and again on its settings page.
Keep passwords, card numbers and anything else private out of it, and use a password manager for those instead.
Removing it
Uninstalling the extension leaves your notes behind, because they are bookmarks. Delete the Pastemorphic bookmark folder and they are gone for good.
